How to clean pool or patio enclosures?

Custom-made enclosures meet safety standards, protect pool water from contamination, keep it warm, and prevent snow buildup. Patio enclosures make your living space cozier and more versatile. But how to protect and clean the enclosure itself? We’ll advise you. The main cleaning agent is water.

How to clean a pool enclosure?

Start cleaning your pool enclosure by sweeping debris from the tracks (rails) with a soft broom. Then rinse the rails and the entire enclosure with a stream of lukewarm pressure water. This will remove remaining mechanical dirt, dust, and pollen from the polycarbonate surfaces and profiles. Always direct the water stream away from the pool to prevent dirty water from mixing with the pool water.

We recommend letting the well-rinsed and dirt-free enclosure air dry in the sun.

Cleaning of patio enclosures

Cleaning a patio enclosure is similar to cleaning a pool enclosure. First, sweep coarse debris from the rails. Then flush the tracks with a stream of water. Proceed to clean the enclosure itself. From an elevated position, rinse the roof with lukewarm water and let it dry in the sun. Rinse the side walls with water, and if the panels are glass, you can wipe them with a squeegee. Use environmentally friendly polishing agents for glass. Make sure that cleaning agents do not come into contact with your skin.

Cleaning of sun-shading screens

The awning is best cleaned by sliding the segment away or opening the roof and, from an elevated position, unfolding it strip by strip in its retracted position and sweeping away dirt with a soft brush. If the roof cannot be slid or opened, unhook the awning from the structure on both sides. When unhooking the awning, we recommend working in pairs.

Use a damp cloth with a bit of degreasing detergent to thoroughly wipe each strip of the awning. If the awning was unhooked, hang it back up after cleaning. Make sure it is properly and securely attached to the structure. When cleaning, use environmentally friendly products and avoid direct contact with skin. Extend the awning fully to allow it to dry completely.

Lock lubrication

The locks on pool and patio enclosures should be maintained in a similar way – using a non-drip lubricant (e.g., WD 40). Follow the instructions provided with the product and apply it directly into the lock slot. Keep a cloth handy to wipe off any excess lubricant and clean the area around the lock immediately after application.
