Technical solution for pool, patio, and hot tub enclosures

The foundation of enclosures for pools, hot tubs, and patios lies in specially designed aluminium profiles (EN AW 6060 and EN AW 6063 alloy; wall thickness 1.5–3.0 mm). Our aluminium profiles come from renowned extrusion plants, powder coating facilities, and anodizing shops, ensuring the highest quality. This guarantees that all profiles are precisely manufactured with a premium surface finish. As a result, our profiles provide maximum durability with minimal thickness and optimal appearance.

Our aluminium profiles are surface-treated with either powder coating or anodizing. For standard enclosures, silver and anthracite are most commonly used. Other enclosures are frequently available in white, bronze, cobalt, or wood imitation. On request, we can also supply other colours from the RAL colour chart.

The aluminum structure is filled with polycarbonate panels. Polycarbonate is a unique technical thermoplastic that combines high mechanical, optical, and thermal performance.

If chamber panels are used, the thickness is 10 mm or 8 mm; for compact panels, thicknesses of 3, 4, and 6 mm are used. Polycarbonate panels create a so-called greenhouse effect. This means they can heat the water inside a closed enclosure even with diffused sunlight on cloudy days. At night or on cold days, the water and air under the structure cool down more slowly. The outer surface of all polycarbonate panels is coated with a high-quality UV stabilization layer that absorbs harmful UV radiation and prevents degradation, cracking, and unwanted discoloration of the polycarbonate.

Compact 3, 4, and 6 mm polycarbonate has better optical properties than chamber polycarbonate, offering a clear view both inside and out, similar to clear glass. It can be used as the filling for the entire enclosure or only for selected parts – such as the front wall, side panels, etc.

Polycarbonate is available in two color variants – clear and smoke.

The structural design of our aluminum profiles and joints is made to provide maximum static strength of Alukov enclosures. At the same time, we strive to offer our clients products with high design purity, so the structural joints are as hidden as possible.

The aluminum structure is filled with panels made of clear or chamber polycarbonate, which increases structural strength and ensures sufficient thermal insulation.

The pool enclosure segments are arranged telescopically, allowing them to move in both directions. As needed, they can be quickly and easily slid behind the pool or unfolded to cover the water surface. The pool enclosure allows for swimming even in bad weather. Another advantage of the sliding feature is that on warm sunny days, you can enjoy the pleasure of using an open pool – swimming in the open air.

Access to the pool enclosure can be provided through hinged or sliding doors (the bottom edge is always sealed with flexible weatherstripping). Doors can be manufactured as single or double-leaf. The standard width for single-leaf doors is 80–90 cm. The current trend of low enclosures favors the ideal entry solution via a side entrance, which ensures unrestricted comfort even with low enclosure height. All doors or entry points on Alukov enclosures are lockable. For tall walk-in enclosures, the range of entry options also includes folding or sliding walls.

A labyrinth sealing system is used between the segments, preventing damage to the polycarbonate panels. The space between the bottom edge of the front walls and the surface (paving, concrete) is fitted with flexible EPDM seals, allowing the structure to be moved over small obstacles (e.g., elevated pool edges) without disassembly. If the pool has taller features (ladder, waterfall), the front walls can be fitted with sliding or hinged doors, or a foldable threshold, allowing the enclosure to pass over the obstacle with ease.

The maximum width of some Alukov pool enclosure models is up to 13 meters. The length of the enclosure is unlimited.

All our enclosures are equipped with a sliding system where individual segments glide effortlessly along the tracks, using polyamide rollers with stainless steel bearings.

Our latest track design meets all ergonomic standards and is only 15 mm high. It is flat, low-profile, and comfortable to walk on. The surface is anti-slip, ensuring safe movement around the pool and allowing for effortless segment operation. There are no sharp, exposed edges (unlike some competing brands), so there’s no risk of injury. The tracks can be mounted on flat surfaces, horizontally, vertically, or even at an angle, including on building walls. The tracks are anodized in clear or bronze, providing excellent wear resistance without risk of mechanical damage.

The number of rails corresponds to the number of enclosure segments. The tracks can be extended beyond the pool, allowing the entire enclosure to be retracted. The enclosure can be moved manually or mechanically using electric motors. The system is completely safe. It’s a closed electrical system, where the motor runs on safe 12 V power from a gel battery, which is recharged via photovoltaic panels. This solution is especially popular with Terra and Viva Prime enclosures.
